Our Texas Vacation .. March 21 Through April 1, 2011 We left for Texas on Monday, March 21, 2011. We got as far as Blackwell, Oklahoma, the first evening. The next morning we took off for Austin, Texas. We checked into a bed and breakfast where we had made reservations and then went on a tour of the Texas State Capitol building. We took a tour of Austin the next morning then headed over to Fredricksburg where we had reservations for a week. We golfed at the Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course on Thursday and on Friday at Hidden Springs Golf Course in the area. On the weekend Nicole, Rey and Nora paid us a visit and stayed over night with us on Saturday into Sunday. Then on Monday we golfed at Scott Schreiner Golf Course in Kerrville. Tuesday we golfed at Lady Bird again and on Wednesday we golfed again at Scott Schreiner before heading to San Antonio to celebrate Nora’s first birthday which was actually on Thursday. We celebrated with her on Wednesday evening as Nicole had to drop Nora off at her daycare early Thursday morning and go to her teaching job. We headed out early Thursday morning and made a stop at Fort Worth in an attempt to see a cattle drive at the stockyards. Although we had directions our attempt to find it was futile so we gave up and continued on. We got as far as Blackwell, Oklahoma, again and headed for Minnesota early Friday morning returning home on Friday evening. We had an enjoyable time but always nice to get home safely.
