OUR TRIP TO NEW YORK FOR SHANNON'S GRADUATION FROM SARAH LAWRENCE COLLEGE .. MAY 20-26, 2009 |
| We had the privilege of taking a trip to New York to attend Shannon's graduation. (Our youngest grand-daughter) We had a flight out of Minneapolis on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Bob and Greta had left a day earlier and they had rented a car so they picked us up from the JFK airport in New York upon our arrival there. We also roomed with them in White Plains. We met up with Shannon and got a tour of the campus. We spent a good part of Thursday helping move Shannon's stuff out of her campus room to Ethan's, Shannon's boyfriend, house. She had to have her room emptied by Friday the day of her graduation. We lunched at Eileen's Kitchen. Friday was the graduation day. We had to check into the tent at the campus by 7:00 am to get good seating although the ceremonies didn't start until 10:00 am. We attended the reception after the ceremony and that evening we went out to dinner at a restaurant in White Plains. Ethan's parents joined us for dinner. On Saturday Shannon took us into New York City using the local trains and subways for transportation. Bob and Greta left for home on Sunday and we spent Monday with Shannon before our departure for home on Tuesday morning. Here are a few pictures taken during the event. Enjoy! |
